🍻 How Dee Discovered Rye

Originally a New York native, Dee spent fifteen years living in Florida and currently resides in Nevada with her husband of eighteen years. Her journey into the world of rye whiskey began during the pandemic when her husband discovered bourbon and started building a collection. Over time, his curiosity expanded into rye whiskey — and one day he invited her to try it.

One of her early favorites was Sazerac Rye. She found its clove and spicy notes approachable, balanced by a smooth sweetness that made it easy to appreciate. During the warmer months, she especially enjoys rye paired with ginger beer for a refreshing twist. Since then, Dee has developed a deeper appreciation for rye whiskey and enjoys exploring new expressions.

🌴 Beyond the Desk

Outside of her editorial work with RyeCentral, Dee enjoys volunteering alongside her husband, creating floral art pieces, and unwinding with funny K-dramas or the occasional marathon of hilarious cat videos on YouTube. She also loves spending time outdoors — whether relaxing at the beach, watching the sun paint the sky during a sunset, or traveling and experiencing new adventures with friends.

While she enjoys the lighter side of life, Dee also knows what she doesn’t enjoy. She strongly dislikes rude or negative behavior, especially in customer service settings where kindness and professionalism make all the difference. She also hates missing a good sale, and nothing disappoints her more than spending a lot of money on food only to have the taste or dining experience fall short.
